Abstract

This research aims to figure out how protestant church specifically one known as Assembleia de Deus influences the body education of the girls who visit often this type of institution. This study rests on the theoretical framework of sociology and anthropology and consists of an ethnography which took place in Assembleia de Deus church located in Campinas city/São Paulo, between March/2006 and December/2007. From this study we understood the way how religious education impacts in body education of the girls, which establish a kind of negotiation between the practices postulated by the church and others kind of education.
