The resignification process of volleyball beginning with the insertion of television in sports

Abstract

In the last thirty years the Brazilian volleyball stopped being a practice exclusive of clubs and schools and began to be treated as a type of sport with pertinent characteristics of the job market. That course evidenced transformations that restructured the sense of the supply and the logic of the sport demand. In an attempt to understand that process of resignification of volleyball, we have found several institutions and interrelations among which we specifically chose the television for our analysis. In this article we have tried to scrutinize the volleyball in the 80s, especially in relation to the inclusion of the media universe in its relationships.
