Abstract

The text aims to reflect on the aesthetic components present in the training of Rhythmic Gymnastics. Having the hermeneutics as a method, it presents reflections based on descriptions of scenes from the videotape of the program História do Esporte, shown in June of 2003 by ESPN Brazil, which covers the day by day of the Brazilian Rhythmic Gymnastics team, then training for the Santo Domingo Pan-American Games. Having such reflections as basis, it discusses, from the aesthetic point of view, the pedagogical implications for the training of Rhythmic Gymnastics in school generated by the high performance training model and possible interfaces between the two contexts considering the needs of critics and the respect to the specificities of both.
