The aim of this study was to verify the prevalence and factors associated with overweight (BMI t 25kg/m 2) among adults (81.754) in Brazil. We performed Poisson regression, crude and adjusted. The results showed highest prevalence of overweight in adults 50 to 59 years (PR=1.21, 95%CI: 1.20;1.22), males (PR=1.01, 95%CI: 1.01; 1.02), blacks (PR=1.01, 95% CI:1.00;1.02), average education level (PR=1.02, 95%CI: 1.01;1.02), high income (PR=1.09, 95%CI:1.08;1.10) and in the South Region (PR=1.02, 95%CI: 1.01;1.02). It concluded that, through results found, it is fundamental adopting strategic actions in public health in regard to the adult population in Brazil.Downloads
