Cinematographic representation and the professional action of recreationists
Abstract
: Film watching (movies, home videos or television) is a leisure activity that interacts image with different languages and knowledge. This paper presents an analysis of the professional stereotypes involving recreationists in comedy movies. Some of the selected comedies, of the 80’s and 90’s, show authoritarian and uncreative activities in summer camps. The analysis also compares the media messages with the theoretical discussion in Leisure Studies and presents paradox questions in the identity and in the professional intervention in leisure.Downloads
