Images of Infancy: the education and the body in the 1930’s and 1940’s in Brazil

Abstract
This article considers a reflection about childhood idea inherent to Physical Education in Brazil during the 1930’s and 1940’s, a time when the parameters of the children’s education were based on the medical discourse. Therefore, Physical Education became the area able to increase the concept that body is a representation of signs and time that, in this case, envisioned a prosperous future for the nation, associating this practice with the social and ethical values of the reported time period.
