Abstract
This review refers to "The world-culture: answer to a disoriented society" reference book of Gilles Lipovetsky and Jean Serroy. “World-culture” refers to one kind of globalized hypermodern world culture ruled by macrodiscourses associated to the economic capitalistic ideal. The main reference book problematization is grounded on an idea that the currently global, capitalist, technological, individualistic and consumerist world constructs a cultural logic of everyday life in light of mercantile principles, although the authors highlight it would not be completely universal. The text of this book focus on the questioning of sociocultural themes related to the contemporary body which is permeated the field of Physical Education/ Sports Science.
