Abstract

In this article, several strategic dimensions from eight Ibero-American journals of Physical Education/Sports Sciences (five Brazilian, two Spanish and one Portuguese) included in the new Web of Science platform are evaluated. It is aimed to both reflect on the coming challenges they will face and be useful in improving the quality of these publications. The analysis was performed from the 2012 published issues and from the information available in their websites. The results show that, overall, transparency and management of the editorial process are improvable and that their internationalization and visibility are still weak.
