The role of physical education in the discussion of environmental issues in high school

Abstract
This article tries to think about the relation among physical education and environmental education in the context of physical education in high school, and was theoretically elaborated through a bibliographical revision. The work was structured as follows: in the first moment we analysed the importance of environmental education in the formal education of students, especially for those in high school; the second point was to analyse physical education in this school level; and finally we indicated the possibility that the matter environmental education, an interdisciplinary topic, could be part of the knowledge discussed in physical education during high school.
