Physical Education through a pedagogical proposal based on learning cycles

Abstract

Among the variety of ways to understand and implement elementary school curriculum, the issue of learning cycles emerges and is posed as an alternative to traditional curriculum. Nonetheless, although the concept of learning cycles is not a new one dating back, in fact, to pedagogical discussions at the end of the decade of 1910 - these cycles bring up a series of problems that need to be considered.This paper looks at the organization of school knowledge in “Learning Cycles in the Pedagogical Proposal for Public Municipal School in Recife”(2002) and pays specific attention to the way Physical Education is situated within the proposal.
