Abstract
Given the importance attributed to sport in contemporary societies, this text proposes to discuss the possible relationships between sports and the humanization of life. For these purposes, the historicity of processes of biological development as well as the connections between sport and health are taken as the axis of our analysis. We go on to propose a movement that is geared toward the democratization of sport, based on the following goals: building a just world; defending the public from aggression and from private property; offering people security and a sustainable life; holding commodification and corruption back; and promoting the leadership of collective organizations and democratic institutions in the recuperation and humanization of life.
