Abstract
The aim of the present study is to think about dance within Caillois’s (1958) game categories. Furthermore, the idea is to present the experience of playing without missing the esthetic dimension. The study shows that the game categories such as agon, alea, mimicry e ilinx, respectively, competition, luck, mimicry and vertigo are part of the dance universe. Finally, we can conclude that dancing make possible the combination of these four categories with the esthetic aspects.
