Gymnastic knowledge needed for professional training in physical education: a guide to putting a curriculum together

Abstract
This descriptive study attempts to research the gymnastic knowledge that is needed in professional training, for putting together a proposal in the area of gymnastics for undergraduate physical education programs. In order to define the gymnastic knowledge needed for teaching activities, 13 teachers were chosen according to the following criteria: holders of doctoral degrees, with at least 10 years of teaching experience in higher education in gymnastics
and having significant publication records in the area. For these purposes, the Delphi method was used. Lastly, through the data collected, we present a proposal on the structure of gymnastic knowledge, hoping in this way to provide a contribution toward teacher training in this area.
