Abstract

This text is about the experiences related to the work as the editor of Movimento journal, a periodic of the Physical Education School of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul, narrated from the editorials that marked its 18 years of existence. Three topics were extracted, representing different moments of consolidation of the periodic: 1) creation, specialization and professionalization; 2) visibility and dialogues with the area of knowledge; 3) constitution of an academic “capital”. Rebuilding this process was one of the ways of telling the story of a magazine that was born in an adverse moment for publication in the area and has settled itself as an important magazine in the scenery of scientific production in Physical Education.
